Sailing to California at the beginning of the Gold Rush

Have you heard about the gold rush days in the U.S? I will tell you what I know about them.

In 1848, gold was discovered in California. A great many people rushed there in order to find gold and make money.

Some people crossed the vast continent in covered wagons. There were some who went to San Francisco by sea. They went through the strait which leads into San Francisco Bay. They called it the 'Golden Gate,' because it was an entrance to a place rich in gold.

Today over the mouth of the bay there is a long red bridge which is called the Golden Gate Bridge.

Saturday

It was warm and sunny yesterday. I cleaned my room.  I wiped the window, cleaned the kitchen　and brush dust off.

I played badminton with my friends in the afternoon. They played better than me.

I watched a soccer game on TV in the night. Japan beat Thailand 4-0.

Looking Forward to Spring

In Saijo, it snowed yesterday evening  for a short time. I din't want to go out. I do't like winter. I am looking forward to spring. Spring is the season when I am very happy. It is the time when everything is lively.

I hoped it will stop snowing. I wanted to go shopping.

I am now listening to  a song called 'Sakura.' Listening to it makes me fell cheerful. 'Spring is coming,' I say to myself.

My Favorite Sport

I like sports. Sports make me healthy in mind as well as in body.Through sports we can learn patience and a spirit of cooperation.

When I was a high school student, I was a member of a tennis club. It was not easy to find enough time for both studies and sports. My motto is "Study hard and play hard." If I didn't, I could not do well either in studies or in sports.

The weather looked fine when I left for shopping in the morning, so I didn't  take my umbrella with me. It was fine all through the morning but the weather started to break in the afternoon. I didn't get out of the store until late.

Suddenly it started to pour just as I began to go home. I wondered whether I should go back home and wait for the rain to stop or rum home. I regretted not having thought of taking an umbrella, since the weather is changeable these days.

Then I heard a voice calling my name, and noticed a man running toward me. He was my brother. He give me an umbrella. I appreciated his kindness very much.

1/1, Friday

It was warm and sunny. In the morning I read a novel for two hours.

I called Ken ( a friend of mine) after lunch. We talked about what to do next Sunday. We agreed to go fishing in the sea.

After supper my father and I watched movie. It was exciting. My brother did not watch television. He slept in his room.

      This blog will describe Star Wars: Characters Chart. Anakin was the Chosen one. He had a strong force. But Palpatine tempted Anakin to fall into the dark side. As a result he become Darth Vader.
